Håkan Eggert is Associate Professor in Economics at Göteborg University, where he is chairman of the undergraduate environmental social science program and of the masters program in environmental management and economics. His fields of specialization are environmental and resource economics and the interface of environmental and development economics.

His current research deals with the use and management of natural resources, particularly aquatic resources. Recent work also deals with trade and environment.

He received his Ph.D. from the University of Gothenburg in May 2001. He is currently resident advisor at The Environment for Development (EfD) Center in Tanzania , University of Dar es Salaam (UDSM).
